Commercial Description:
Summer White is faithful to the Belgian wheat style with its light body, cloudy color and touch of spices. A complex but refreshing ale perfect for summer drinking.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a cloudy (because it is bottle conditioned) pale yellow beverage with a modest frothy white head that was mostly diminishing but left some lacing on the glass. The aroma was typical of this style of beer with prominent notes of lemon and coriander. The body was medium-light with fizzy carbonation and a watery texture. The flavor started out just slightly sour tasting of lemons and then turned a bit sweet. The finish was medium in length and lightly bitter.

Bottle shared with angeloregon: Pours straw cloudy yellow. Aroma of lemons and a little wheat. Flavor is pretty light with a slightly chemically lemon flavor that is strange. Fresh wheat. Hint of coriander. Not bad except for the weird fake lemon flavor.

Poured a cloudy straw haze with a medium white head. Bubbly and lively with a nose of Lemon Joy dishwasher detergent. Chemical, medicinal flavor and finish. Coriander evident in flavor, but artificial tasting. Hoppy sweet, but nothing worth remembering.

Aroma of lemon, banana, coriander ... Gold color with a decent white head that does weird lacing things. Thin in body, mildly creamy in carbonation. The flavors are banana, lemon and arguably coriander in that order. The spice dominates the finish. Seems to be a hint of bitter, but it could be citrus rind. Good stuff, all in all.

typical white aroma, hints of banana, a tangy after-taste, a decent price, pleaseant for a warm evening. would probably purchase again.

bottle. hazy lemon yellow color with a thin white head. plenty of coriander and citrus in the nose along with some grainy notes. mild spicy entry has a flavor that reminds me of fresca. diet grapefruit soda that is. a little thin on the palate with a finish that is lacking something.

Bottle. Pours a decent lemonade yellow with a nice glaze of haze in the body. Decent white head atop the beverage. Aroma is clove mixed with Wal-Mart bathroom. Kinda gross, for sure. Clovy flavor that dominates; not much room for anything else that I can detect. Maybe a touch of coriander in the background. Average mouthfeel. Eh, one is enough.
