Commercial Description:
Summer White is faithful to the Belgian wheat style with its light body, cloudy color and touch of spices. A complex but refreshing ale perfect for summer drinking.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

Bottle poured a cloudy yellow with a small lingering white head. Aromas of coriander, wheat and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of wheat, coriander, some yeastiness and light citrus with a crisp lingering spice finish.

A very light white pale color with a nice head. The aroma was very subtle and nice and the flavor was rich with malts and good yeasts. This was a nice summer evening beer.

Pours a cloudy pale straw body with a few too many yeast (I hope!) chunks and a modest white head. It has a clean yeasty smell accompanied by soft wheat malt, spices, and a drop or two of fresh lemon juice. Tastes much as it smells except that the lemon gets a bit sour (as opposed to tart) and distracts a bit. Not a bad warm weather brew.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy light yellow with small head, big carbonation. Aroma of mild spice and yeast. Flavor is fruity (lemon), spicey (corriander/pepper), and small maltiness. Tart and a light mouthfeel. Crisp dry finish. I was surprised, not a bad beer. Definitely freshing on a hot day.

Cloudy and yellow, maybe a little twinge of gold to it. Head was white retention was good. Aroma was a mix of lemon and spices, mainly a pepper note, but some coriander. Flavor seemed to have a good pepper note to it with nice lemony malts through out. Some bitterness. It seemed to have normal carbonation. Decent brew.

Poured a sediment filled gold color with white head. The aroma is citrus-lemon, candi sugar, clove spice and biscuit malt mixed with bread. The flavor is tart at first then becomes fruity with grapes, lemon, lime, a slice or two of apple, yeast, clove like spices and a faint malt backbone.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and hazy yellow color with a huge sized white head. Aromas of bananas, stronger spices, light citrus, and yeast. Tastes were watery and thin. Basicially the same as the aromas but very watery. Big let down compared to the aromas.

I had a few sample of this today at Lukas Liquors. Highly spiced with corriander and orange peal. Highly carbonated. Basic.
