Commercial Description:
Summer White is faithful to the Belgian wheat style with its light body, cloudy color and touch of spices. A complex but refreshing ale perfect for summer drinking.

Editor's Note: It is unknown at present exactly where each of the Spanish Peaks beers are being brewed. Flying Dog no longer makes any of them. Some are brewed by City Brewery in LaCrosse, WI. Expect this beer entry to move as more recent info becomes available.

(8/7/07, 12oz bottle) Creamy, medium off-white head atop a yeast-flecked, cloudy pear juice. Aroma is medium sweet, strong coriander, light clove, orange peel. Taste is medium sweet, coriander, some orange peel, light seltzer. Creamy light-medium body. (5/3/4/3/9)

(11/25/04) Small white head atop a lightly hazed apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange peel, some coriander, light lemon. Taste is mild sweet, some lemon, orange peel, and not much else. Watery light body, moderate carbonation, slight crispness. Very disappointing flavor, though not bad so much as completely bland. I agree with CapFlu describing this as a watery club soda. 12oz bottle. Poured a medium and hazy yellow color with a huge sized white head. Aromas of bananas, stronger spices, light citrus, and yeast. Tastes were watery and thin. Basicially the same as the aromas but very watery. Big let down compared to the aromas.

Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Smells of citrus, some coriander. Tastes of cumin, coriander and citrus. A bit forced and more like a hefeweizen with coriander thrown in than a witbier.

Pours a cloudy pale straw body with a few too many yeast (I hope!) chunks and a modest white head. It has a clean yeasty smell accompanied by soft wheat malt, spices, and a drop or two of fresh lemon juice. Tastes much as it smells except that the lemon gets a bit sour (as opposed to tart) and distracts a bit. Not a bad warm weather brew.

Cloudy straw color with a tallish recycled paper colored head. I smell lots of oats in this one, mild citrus and a touch of spice. Some herbal undertones as well. Lemonade start and finish. Middle has some mild spices of mace and cloves. Finish is watery and has a carbonated water taste and feel. Easy enough to drink and a would be a decent summer quencher. Flying Dog seems to be doing alright with this one.

Bottle: Gold, light haze, nice lacing, nose of citrus and vanilla, very bright and up front. The flavor is very fresh and citrusy, lots of creamy malt flavor. Decent.

Bottle from Party Town. Poured hazy pale orange with an moderate frothy white head that was lasting with good lacing. Good fruity wheat aroma. Light to medium body with lively carbonation. Moderate sweet wheat flavor with an average sweet citrus finish of moderate duration.
