I thought this would be a little darker than what it was. It only looked a little darker than a pale lager. Anyways it was pretty solid for a lighter beer but i would have preferred a darker malt. grat (433), ST. Louis, Missouri, USA

Canary yellow and forthy lager white head. Not too sticky. Powerful nose. All sweet malts. Floraly, earthy honey tang sweetness, Much like mounatin laurel without any greeness. Cottony sweetness. Flavors are rich. Orangey tangy sweetness. thick honey maltiness. Lovely beer. Nice hop greeness. Spicy finish that is clean and melon like. mdi (573), Nebraska, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 12, 2006 Draught at CM Bockfest. Bright gold w/ nice white head...honey, malt, straw, grain aroma...moderately interesting. Full bodied and sweet. nice malt, with more honey and some light fruitiness...not finding the hops...seems a bit underattenuated to me...or just unbalanced sweet...grainy...works out to be a pretty good beer for sitting in a beer garden on a sunny day. Pleasant honey malt and honey aroma. Nice malt with an earthy and herbal hop bite for balance in the finish. Very drinkable beer. ChazyRPh (571), Chazy, New York, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 25, 2005 Pours a clear, lightly sparkling golden with a lightly-lacing white head. Aroma is earthy and somewhat musty with some sweet caramely maltiness. Body starts rich and sweet with good German lager yeastiness and a nice noble hoppy bitter balance. Many thanks to JPDIPSO for sharing this from his keg! DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2005 Pale malt aroma with spicey hops. Better flavor: more sweet pale malt but with lightly spicy red-fruited grassy hops. An excellent mailbock! Thanks for John for sharing a growler of this.
