Better flavor: more sweet pale malt but with lightly spicy red-fruited grassy hops. An excellent mailbock! Thanks for John for sharing a growler of this. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 13, 2005 Clear gold in color with white creamy edges. Aroma is caramel and pepper and a hint at dry, unsweetened chocolate. Overall, fairly muted aroma. Flavor is smooth and encompassing. Vanilla creaminess and a little oak. Some background caramel accents and a dash of pepper. Dry, clean and a little bit of hop bitterness. Solid maibock - not too sweet and not too bland. Thanks to JPDIPSO for sharing this rarity. hezron (604), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA

Light aroma, couldn’t pick up much except some bready malt with a hint of pepper? Flavor was simple, but good. A nice sweet malt with some fruity overtones. Thanks to JPDIPSO for bringing and sharing. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA

Dougy yeasty aroma light fruits but weak overall w/ an odd hop or malt that put something in the scent I couldn’t place. Pours golden in color w/ a small white head an nice carb bubbles. Palate is rich feels thicker than it looks and coats well. Flavor is odd for a maibock lightly sweet some fruits like pears warming in the swallow lightyly malty. Good beer a bit different but good. 1FastSTi (2580), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA

Pours to a 24k golden colored body with a thin, barely existent white head. The aroma is malty and sweet. Bready and grassy. The flavor is very floral and has a sweet malt backbone. Yeah, that’s the kind of day it was...a bock is the "light" beer of the event! Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

It’s almost chewy malty, tasting like fresh dough with hints of fruitiness. Nice clean yet sweet finish. All around good bock. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
