Oct 1, 2009 Has a deep mahogany appearance with off-white head and fair lacing. The aroma is light caramel and bready malt. The body is ligth to medium with a watery texture. The malty taste finishes dry with a hint of skunk (damn green bottles!).

Sep 22, 2009 Pours medium brown with some ruby highlights. Thin, off-white head. Aroma is slightly skunky and lager yeast. Flavor is nice caramel malt. Sweet without being cloying. Medium mouthfeel. Nice.

Sep 20, 2009 Bottle from BevMo. Reddish/brown in color. Light chocolate aroma. A little sweetness as well. Smooth mouthfeel. Some chocolate and roasted malts. A little coffee bitterness in the finish. Nice easy drinking dunkel.

Sep 20, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a hazy typically carbonated dark copper brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma was brown malt and roasted malt. The crisp thick yet thin mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of brown malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

Sep 17, 2009 330ml green Bottle, red label. Dark reddish-brown color. light colored head. Aroma of skunky hops. lots of toasted grains. Flavor is short on toasted malt character. Nice noble bittering hops. Overall it has an ok balance. Not shat I’d look for in a Dunkel coming from Germany, let alone München . If I was there, I would still order one. On the sad note this is not what I was seeking out for what a beer of this style and origin should be. Just short of smooth, flavorful, or perfect.

Sep 17, 2009 Pours amber with copper tones and a storm of carbonation. Sports a one finger crackling offwhite head. Nose is an interesting mix of earthy lager characteristics and sweet caramelly malt. Aroma jumps out of the glass with the release of carbonation. Flavor starts with sweet malt and a raisiny peaty character. Some leafy hop bitterness and a mild papery character. Palate shows almost none of the carbonation of the appearance.
