It is what it is. Kinda dusty, a bit of caramel sweetness. Nothing offensive or inoffensive about it, but not that great.

After pouring, dried fruit and crusty bread aromas hit the nose. A clear deep dark reddish brown color in appearance as it pours in the glass. Nice dark wheat bread in flavor with a toasty aftertaste. Overall it great! I hadn’t had something this pleasing in a long time.

12oz bottle. Aroma nutty malty. Flavor toasted malts, toffee, sweet bread. Very balanced. Medium mouth feel. Roasty in the finish. Smooth, easy to drink. Carbonation was mild.

Tasted at the San Diego International Beer Festival. Clear copper brown with no head. Nutty malty aroma and taste without much else going on.

12oz bottle at the Brickskeller. Amber-brown color, filtered and transparent. Minimal quick-fading head. Sweet brown sugar malt taste, quite smooth and well done. Not cloying, pungent, and/or thick like some Dunkels, this is quite well balanced. Caramel and toffee notes. Not much hop presence at all, in accord with the style. Pretty good.

In the bottle from HyVee CB. I’m sad that this is a green bottle, as I will re-rate this once the Crescent Moon gets it on tap. Pours a very crisp and clean dark brown with a surprisingly white head. Thios has a thin body with a good chocolate and roasted backbone. Good, but not great.

Bottle from Belmont Party. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate dark malty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.
