Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Water, Barley Malt, Hops & Hop extract.
Sold as Münchner Hell in Germany, München in the UK and Premium in North America.
This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

A nice light lager with delicate hop flavors and moderate bitterness. Not much else to it, a simple beer but quite satisfying.

120z bottle. Poured a clear bright golden color with a nice fluffy white head. Has a very faint aroma of hops and lemon zest. Has a light crisp taste of bitter grainy hops that finishes with a touch of sweet biscuity malt. Very thin and light.

Bitter, and like others have stated has a smell like that of a fresh cut lawn... not something I prefer in my beer, and actually tastes like it has grass clippings in it.

12oz bottle. I’m happy with my progression as a rater, I correctly identified this beer as being a Helles without previously knowing. Unfortunately, Spaten is known for being very crisp and clean tasting and this isn’t their finest example of that. Pours a lighter clear straw color with tiny bubbles and medium fine froth on top. Aroma is light, a balance of sweet munich malt, breadiness and grass. Flavor follows, really balanced, nothing really stands out, some brediness, grass, sweet munich, longer grassy doughy aftertaste. Medium/light bodied, classic Spaten, super smooth great carbonation, but not quite as crisp. A passable Helles, not Spaten’s best, but I can see the wider appeal.

500 ml on tap in the USA, It is a good solid Helles but not a great one. Not bad for a German Macro. I thiink my higher rating is due to the fact I got this one on tap.
