Sep 19, 2009 120z bottle. Poured a clear bright golden color with a nice fluffy white head. Has a very faint aroma of hops and lemon zest. Has a light crisp taste of bitter grainy hops that finishes with a touch of sweet biscuity malt. Very thin and light.

Aug 31, 2009 Bitter, and like others have stated has a smell like that of a fresh cut lawn... not something I prefer in my beer, and actually tastes like it has grass clippings in it.

Aug 11, 2009 12oz bottle. I’m happy with my progression as a rater, I correctly identified this beer as being a Helles without previously knowing. Unfortunately, Spaten is known for being very crisp and clean tasting and this isn’t their finest example of that. Pours a lighter clear straw color with tiny bubbles and medium fine froth on top. Aroma is light, a balance of sweet munich malt, breadiness and grass. Flavor follows, really balanced, nothing really stands out, some brediness, grass, sweet munich, longer grassy doughy aftertaste. Medium/light bodied, classic Spaten, super smooth great carbonation, but not quite as crisp. A passable Helles, not Spaten’s best, but I can see the wider appeal.

Aug 9, 2009 500 ml on tap in the USA, It is a good solid Helles but not a great one. Not bad for a German Macro. I thiink my higher rating is due to the fact I got this one on tap.
