Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Water, Barley Malt, Hops & Hop extract.
Sold as Münchner Hell in Germany, München in the UK and Premium in North America.
This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

I wasn’t planning on liking this, but it was surprisingly delicious, expecially when paired with a great meal from my local German restaurant.

12 oz. Clear gold with a medium head that settles into a creamy lasting ring. Aroma is pure skunk, with slight honey and grass. Flavor follows the same pattern. Light body is smooth and slightly dry. Might be a pretty good beer in other than a green bottle!

A beautuful clear golden color, with a pure white large foamy head. It smells like malt and corn mash. The taste is a little grainy. Refreshing if the beer is really cold and it’s hot outside.

Bottle 0.5 l. Pale yellow. Fruity, malty and a bit on the sweet side, both nose and flavor. Balanced, tasty and pretty full. Good.

Canned 50cl. It pours a pale yellow beer with an average white head. The nose is of bread, bacon, garlic and lemon. Rather hoppy with a metallic touch. The taste is of marzipan, vegetables and candy. Very sweet with a light salty note. Some smoked bacon showing up. Rather Bavarian. Strange finish with a hint of onion. This beer isn’t worth purchasing again.

A very funky aroma of old socks with a hint of corn. Very clean golden pour with white head. Flavor of sweet malt with just a hint of bitter on the finish. Really solid palate and carbonation all round mouthfeel is good. A solid beer all round good flavor. I might shoudl have given it another point for flavor. Aroma really knocked it down from a good rating.

12oz bottle from a variety pack. Average lager taste like MGD. Will drink again but will not buy again.

Bought from Aldi...89p I think! Quite deep gold in colour although the head is thin and patchy. Not much in the way of a nose, just a slight malt/hops note. Fairly full bodied, better than I expected, flavour is a bit lacking too, smooth and just a wee bit malty. Overall , this is ok for a cheap lager, would buy again.
