Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Water, Barley Malt, Hops & Hop extract.
Sold as Münchner Hell in Germany, München in the UK and Premium in North America.
This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

If I was told I was only allowed one brand/style of beer for the rest of my life, this would be the one. 16.9 oz bottles only. Don’t care for the "green"!

Rather rancid bitter aroma. Aroma follows through to the flavor. Not a fan of the "skunky" style brews. First time drinker of Premium - and last time drinker of Premium.

(Bottle) Tastes like a German beer, but generic for one. Some metallic taste surfaces...typical for a German import. Some hops present, but not very hoppy. Overall, not very impressionable. I would gladly prefer this one to Beck’s but in my opinion, it’s significantly more boring than most of the other mainstream German imports.

Why is this beer rated so poorly? Tasty malts balanced almost perfectly with the flavorful, fragrant hops. Quenching and delicious.

Bottled. A light gold coloured beer with an off white head. The aroma is predominantly grassy hops with a bit of puke. A reasonably balanced taste with malt and hops to the fore. Nice enough flavours with no off putting buttery flavours I often find in this type of beer.

Served cold from tap. There isn’t much to say about Spaten that hasn’t already been written. It’s a traditional lager, crisp and easy to drink, with nothing special or distinct about it. It’s fine when you’re at a bar that has limited options, but that’s about the extent of my desire to drink it.

I had this musty, stale yella Helles style Spaten on draft. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but next time I’d skip for even a cheap American Pale Lager. Hey, Germany, pls. export better beer than Spaten Premium to the USA.
