Don’t care for the "green"! vmilaxer29 (144), Virginia, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jan 3, 2008 Rather rancid bitter aroma. Aroma follows through to the flavor. Not a fan of the "skunky" style brews. First time drinker of Premium - and last time drinker of Premium. cazort (419), Newark, Delaware, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 1, 2008 (Bottle) Tastes like a German beer, but generic for one. Some metallic taste surfaces...typical for a German import. Some hops present, but not very hoppy. Overall, not very impressionable. I would gladly prefer this one to Beck’s but in my opinion, it’s significantly more boring than most of the other mainstream German imports. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 31, 2007 Why is this beer rated so poorly? Tasty malts balanced almost perfectly with the flavorful, fragrant hops. Quenching and delicious. maeib (4766), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 26, 2007 Bottled. A light gold coloured beer with an off white head. The aroma is predominantly grassy hops with a bit of puke. A reasonably balanced taste with malt and hops to the fore. Nice enough flavours with no off putting buttery flavours I often find in this type of beer. smashteroid (251), USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Served cold from tap. There isn’t much to say about Spaten that hasn’t already been written. It’s a traditional lager, crisp and easy to drink, with nothing special or distinct about it. It’s fine when you’re at a bar that has limited options, but that’s about the extent of my desire to drink it. JFGrind (1354), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 22, 2007 I had this musty, stale yella Helles style Spaten on draft. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but next time I’d skip for even a cheap American Pale Lager. Hey, Germany, pls. export better beer than Spaten Premium to the USA.
