Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Water, Barley Malt, Hops & Hop extract.
Sold as Münchner Hell in Germany, München in the UK and Premium in North America.
This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

Great light-Helles lager. Personally the best helles available in my neck of the woods. Available at our local german joint, the Student Prince. A very consistent brew, never skunky.

Bottle. (as Spaten Original Munich Beer) Clear, pale golden beer with a nice, beige head. Quite grainy nose, yet balanced with fruityness. The flavor has fruityness, grain and bitterness. Quite bitter finish. Medium body. Refreshing. (070527)

Medium offwhite shiny head. Pale yellow body. Light straw aroma. Dry, straw taste with grainy, grassy hop notes. Aftertaste is like the main taste. Clean, sharpish mouthfeel. It’s OK, but not very special. (0.5l bottle at Oliver Twist.)

Bottle. Straw yellow color. White head. Aroma of malt, hops, and grass. Flavor includes malt, hops, and grain. Clean, but not harsh to palate. Bitter finish. Good, but not spectacular.

Vom fass at Kugler Alm, Oberhaching 16 Jun 07. Pale golden. A small creamy head. Sweet malty aroma. Hardly any flavor. Sweet bitter finish. Also tried the Radler variant - blended 50% with lemon lemonade.

500ml vom fass at Kugler Alm. Clear golden body. Thin filmy layer. Some sweet fruity notes in aroma and flavour. Missing aftertaste. Semi-dry palate. Thin and overcarbonated. Rather dull (16.06.2007)

12 oz bottle at Rabbit’s on Foster. Well I was most impressed by their knowledge of how to pour a hacker-pschorr. But since this was only $3 I’ll try this one on round two. Pours a slightly hazed yellow white head. Nose of malts, grains, hint of citrus. Light body similar flavors slightly sweet. A few grassy notes coming out. Meh, it works.
