Feb 7, 2007 Early in my beer drinking days (actual beer not macros), I fell in love with spaten optimator and scneider aventinus. The only place I knew to get german beer was a restaurant not too close to me. Once I moved to manhattan and found all sorts of beer everywhere, I knew I had to try other german beers, so I started with this Spaten Lager. Compared to the optimator, I obviously was not impressed. I guess some people like these heineken, peroni, budweiser no-taste watery beers. I only give it good marks because I think it at least beats out those aforementioned ’premium lagers.’

Feb 5, 2007 Updated: Jan 20, 2008Cerveja alemã, também conhecida como Spaten Munchner Hell. Cerveja amarga; coloração e espuma normal; cheiro suave de lúpulo, muito bom. Apesar de ser mais encorpada que as brasileiras normais, ainda é aguada. É uma boa cerveja, refrescante e forte, deixando um gosto forte de cerveja na boca, amargor residual agradável. Tem um traço frutado de manga no cheiro e no sabor. Vale experimentar outra.

Feb 1, 2007 I bought this one in New York city. Imported. ven though it says Spatten premium and smells like a lager it is closer to a pils. Very sweet and a good dose of hops. Good but not great. It taste like a bunch of beers I have had in my life. The fter taste is too sweekt though. Decent.

Jan 29, 2007 Pours a light yellow, like apple juice. Sweet like apple juice too. Easy to drink, but not much here. Pleasant taste.

Jan 28, 2007 Bottled. Pale yellowin colour, rich bubbly white head, lacings. The aroma is sweet and malty. The flavour is malty, sweet with hops.. Not all that exciting... But quite drinkable. Thanks to TBone_ for this brew.

Jan 27, 2007 Bottle from Systembolaget. Another JAP beer me (Just Another Pilsner), although I did think it had a pleasant nuttiness and balanced hop and sweet malt body. In keeping with the style it has a very pale straw colour and short-lasting head. Easy to drink but unchallenging for my palate.

Jan 12, 2007 Clear golden color with a thin white head that disappeares quickly. Soft smell of sweet malts. Very very smooth flavor of sweet malt with a mild hoppy aftertaste. Surprisingly nice palate for this a dortmunder (very smooth on the tongue). A little metallic finish. Overall a very sweet and amazingly easy to drink beer. Good to have around and to match with light food.
