It pours nice with a medium thin head. It has a sweet malty, and ever so slight caramel nose. The color is dark and golden. Nice lacing, but it doesn’t hang in the glass. Medium carbonation. The taste is also malty, sweet, medium mouthfeel, and a subtle bitter hop finish. 8/30/09 update. Yummy!!

Tap. Pours a golden amber with a light white head. Aroma is malt and grain with slight hops. Taste is the same. Smooth, drinkable, very solid.

Golden color with a light head. Aroma is sweet and malty with lots of cereal sugary sweetness and fresh honey bread. Taste is sweet, sugary, and malty with just enough hop bite to keep things interesting. Good Marzen.

I tapped a 1/2 barrel of this last night for a Halloween party and the rich grains and malt stood out in the taste. While I did note the sweetness, the overall body tasted well with pronounced hops.

Draught at the Schnitzelhaus in Tampa. Copper/rust colored body with a creamy, 1.5 finger thick white head. Nice lacing for the style. Nose of sweet malts, bread dough, oranges, tangerines, floral hops. Smells very nice. Not nearly as sweet as other Ofest beers I have had, and I like that. There is a nice sweetness but it’s balanced very well by the citrus and floral notes. Also has a nice grassy/earthy flavor at the back end. Creamy palate, medium bodied. Finish is medium length and semi-sweet. Probably my second favorite Ofest after Ayinger. Well done.

Good poor with nice head. Scent can be deceiving, good taste with nice aftertaste. Good beer to come home and have after work before dinner.

Malty sweetness mostly in aroma and flavor. A lot of nice bready notes. Just balanced out by the low bitterness.
