Colour... orange-amber. Nose... sweet malt and an even balance of hops. Palate... plenty of C02, lightly chewy, nicely balanced between the roasty malt and hops, though not especially complex. I Like it on tap much better than the bottle. triguy84 (69), Fitchburg, Wisconsin, USA

Flavor: moderate malt sweetness, distinct lager. Light bodies, not hop bitterness. Not a big fan of this style, but I am trying them to better understand. ROGUE (712), Newark, Delaware, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 20, 2009 12oz bottle. Poured a dark golden color with a two finger soapy head. Smelled moslty of sweet malt with a hint of hops. Taste was mainly malt and grain with a hint of caramel, that finished with slight dry bitter hops. Would have expected more for a German Oktoberfest. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear amber and a medium white head. The aroma is a lot of malt and metallic notes behind slight hops. The falvor is smooth at first, nice malty body, but there is a nice bite towards the end. There is lacking body though, a little too thin. Fratto (763), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2009 Green bottle. Pale brownish orange color, thin foamy head. The bottle in the picture is brown, but this is not. Bummer. Came from a 12 pack(cardboard box) so presumably not much light got in. Flavor is slightly sweet, with notes of mild roast and bread. Medium bodied with the trademark slightly metallic finish of the German hops. Doesn’t seem skunked, luckily. Pretty passable Oktoberfest, one of my favorite versions from Germany.
