Commercial Description:
This is the German version of the beer, described by Jackson in the 2000 Pocket Beer Book as "much paler (than Oktoberfest-Marzen in the US), golden, albeit still with a creamy aroma and pleasant malt accent."

2007 bottles from Costco -- Green glass, but inside cardboard container, so no light issues. This beer has the expected qualities of an Oktoberfest: big and relatively complex malt flavors (bread, Munich malt fruit), full body, and wonderful color. The main detractor was the significant sulfur component that made the aroma undesirable and slightly vegetal-like. Sulfur is not uncommon in lagers, but it still detracts. Overall, a good beer and not too disappointing.

Light golden body with a small with foam layer. Aroma is malty and bread, sweet. Flavor is sweet malty and bready. Little smokenotes and a subtle bitter aftertaste. Palate is thin and syrupy.

(Bottle) Pours golden. Typical German aroma. Hoppy notes of herbs and grass with a rich bread like malt backbone. Overtones of lemon, flowers, syrup and tiny hints of fruits. Light honey sweet. Rather rich malty flavour with bread and syrup. Hops bring grass and herbs flavour wise. Smooth but a tiny bit unclean mouthfeel. Light sweet, light to medium bitter and a touch of alcohol. Medium body. Not my favourite kind of hops but the rather rich maltiness makes this a decent beer.

Pours a pale gold color with a white lingering head. Mild citrus aroma. Caramel and earth notes. Goes down easy enough but not really noteworthy otherwise.

A nice pour, decent head, abit bready, with a malt flavor, very drinkable, and at 5.9%, very easy to have too many! Nothing great but, enjoyable, and easy drinking none the less! ok, especially for the style.

Bottle. Blonde. Just a hint of soap in the aroma. Medium to full bodied. Malty, soapy, flowery hops. Earthy bitter aftertaste. Just a bit perfumed. Not my favorite Oktoberfestbier.

Draft at Munchen Oktoberfest. Very drinkable beer. Simple flavor (but well balanced with malt and hop) and slightly watery with a thin mouthfeel.
