Commercial Description:
This is the German version of the beer, described by Jackson in the 2000 Pocket Beer Book as "much paler (than Oktoberfest-Marzen in the US), golden, albeit still with a creamy aroma and pleasant malt accent."

12 oz green bottle. Pours amber with medium sized off white head. A few caramel notes, with a more pronounced toastiness and a little toffee. Moderate malt makes this a rich lager, and one of my favorites.

Surprised this isn’t more highly rated. Palish in colour, nothing too interesting smell wise. The taste is very heavily malty and really satisfying. One of my favourite lagers.

Pours a golden color with a medium white head. Smells of hops mostly. Tastes of hops with a slight herb flavor. Decent octoberfest.

500ml bottle: golden yellow with a medium sized white head. Skunky upon first opening but it cleared up within a few seconds. Moderate hop aroma with some grapes. Flavor is lightly herbal from the hops with some fruitiness. As the below rating says, some cardboard. Mild bitter finish. Decent beer.

Dark yellow colored, medium sized white head. Sweet, fruity, somehow lemony and hopped aroma. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is not as good as aroma: some unclean cardboard, sweet lemon, hops and fruits, aftertaste lasts with this sweet fruitiness.

Looks clear and pale golden in the glass. Not very strong taste. Easy beer for partying.
