Commercial Description:
This is the German version of the beer, described by Jackson in the 2000 Pocket Beer Book as "much paler (than Oktoberfest-Marzen in the US), golden, albeit still with a creamy aroma and pleasant malt accent."

A wonderful Bavarian beer, and if you’re a fan of the Octoberfest style, this is a must-try. The aroma is very pleasent, and carries over into the test. Very rich, quite malty with a dry finish for such a perfumed beer. Better on tap than out of the bottle, as is any beer, but this one is worth trying if you ike the style.

This is very light on the nose and on the palate too! A fresh grapefruit/lemon aroma if anything. Thin and lacking in body, has a sugary (rather than malty) sweetness that dominates the palate..unpleasant stuff.

Draught liters, Auf’m Wies’n, Münchener Oktoberfest 2004. Plain, mashy aroma. Sweetly matly taste without much hops getting in the way of 3 liters downed. It really is hard to judge with all this noise and sensory confusion. Biilious gut feeling next morning but I recover from all toxicity by 3 pm, walking the old city. Nice!

Bottle. Pours golden with a big white head. Sweetish aroma with some hoppy notes - seems rather discount-like to me. Flavour is equally sweetish. Some hops. Dryish and slightly bitter finish. Quite boring, really. 05-11-05.

The aroma is brewmashy. The color is golden and it has a beutiful lasting head. The flavor is sweet and malty with notes of spices and alcohol. But it is very simple - so in my book it is a boring strong lager. I’d hoped for something a lot better.

Spicy hop aroma mixed with the typical munchner maltiness. Pale golden colour. The white head seems quite stable. Malty sweetness dominates the flavour, though the finish is drier. Quite fizzy, good body. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Acidic and slightly malty aroma. Golden colour. Has a beautiful, big, stable white head. Quite malty, a little sweet flavour, and a little acidic. Aftertaste is unfortunately hoppy in a way that reminds me of cheap lager. Good body with a nicely mild carbonation.

Bottled. Pale golden colour, small white bubbly head. Malts and hops in aroma. Flavour is smooth of malts and hops. Long sweetish aftertaste. Very wellbalanced. Quite biting carbonation.
