Commercial Description:
This is the German version of the beer, described by Jackson in the 2000 Pocket Beer Book as "much paler (than Oktoberfest-Marzen in the US), golden, albeit still with a creamy aroma and pleasant malt accent."

500ml bottle from Systembolaget brought to my hotel room for refreshing enjoyment after a hard working day at the university. Noisy pour revealing a chalk, white head slowly fading over a clear, late straw coloured body. Pale malty to the nose. Grainy malts in flavour mingled by sweet, oily hops and mild spices. Some lemony bitterness to the finish. Soft carbonated and medium bodied. Very relaxing and just what I needed at the time (Linköping, 02.09.2009).

Maltig med tillräcklig pondus för att aptera en smakbomb i munnen. Kraftfull för att vara en ljus lager, men den lämnar tyvärr några hål att fylla, upplevelsen är inte fullödig.

Deep golden color. Aroma has a earthy malt scent. Taste is basically of skunked malts. Has a bitter finish. Not really a special Oktoberfest beer here. Blah.

At the Duetsches Haus in Ramstein. Clear yellow, slight white head. Aroma of pepper and yeast. Decent malty character throughout makes it slightly sweet. Hops come in at the finish. Decent enough.

Pours a clear copper with thick, lightly tan-tinged head. Aroma is very nutty with notes of caramel. Flavor is malts, caramel and earthy grass. Body is creamy yet light with medium carbonation.

0.5 L bottle from Systembolaget, Charlottenberg. A big, mostly diminishing near-white head upon a brilliant, pale gold colored body. Weak, soft, sweeitish malt aroma. Some hayish hops, and scent of wet cardboard. Quite thin malt body, light to medium sweet, balanced by some stale, unfresh, grassy hops. Light astringent mouthfeel. Oily texture. Faint malty, sharp bitterish ending. A mediocre Festbier.

50 cl bottle. Very pale golden colour. Small but dense head white head. The aroma is clean and sweetish malty with some grains in it. Some caramel and light fruitiness too. Balancing hoppiness has fresh grassy and slightly herbal and spicy notes. The flavor is smooth and juicy maltiness is quite enjoyable. it dries up a bit towards the finish and the alcohol is pretty much absent. Low carbonation, medium body. Good drinkabliy. One of the better märzen.

12 oz. bottle. My brother picked me up a few of these bottles. Transparent caramel/brown. Nice fluffy head that slowly fades away. The is a lighter caramel/brown color. Not a bad looking marzen lager. Caramel malt sweetness on the nose. Fairly pungent beer. Subtle sharp hop aroma as well. Not a bad aroma. Fairly smooth malt sweetness. Not as alcoholic, or as smooth as some of the other marzen lagers I have had lately, but a fairly decent representation. I can say that I appreciate the smoothness, and I also appreciate the fact that the beer is not overly rich. Nice marzen beer.
