Commercial Description:
This is the German version of the beer, described by Jackson in the 2000 Pocket Beer Book as "much paler (than Oktoberfest-Marzen in the US), golden, albeit still with a creamy aroma and pleasant malt accent."

Pours gold. Has a light and delicate flavor. Finishes with a little lasting flavor. Tasty, on-style. Enjoyable and easy to drink!

(Sep 21, 2005) Bottle. Dissapointingly pale, with a thin head. Yeasty, doughy aroma. Soft, clean, malty, slightly sour taste.

I love Oktoberfest/Marzen beers and this is a wonderful example. It is copper-amber with a huge off-white head that lasts a long time and leaves good lace. The aroma is caramelly malty grain, cooked rice, dry grass, hints of pine and herb. The taste is caramlyl malty grain, strong and full but still light and tingly in feel, with an active palate, clear herbal and nutty bitterness, more bitter than usual for the style and just enough to make it more interesting. This is simply wonderful

0,5 litre bottle @ the billet. Aroma of Coriander and honey, golden amber in appearance, tastes very very hoppy for a beer of this style. Sweet and quaffable as it should be.

Bottle. Clear yellow with white head. Large aroma in the beginning but it fades out. The aftertaste lingers for a while. Sweet and hay.

Draft at Dunderbachs. Poured a medium golden yellow body with thin head. Aroma is malt, crisp and light hops, caramel. Flavor is a light mixture of malt, and caramel.

Surprisingly sour aroma but some grassy hops also. Full and malty flavour. Sweetish for my taste but it has the body to carry it. Mild, almoust vague hops in the finish but the aftertaste lingers and they even feel stronger after that mouthful is gone down. Interesting. I’d give this a second chance.
