| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 18, 2009 16.9oz bottle from BevMo! One of my favorite Doppelbocks of all time. I think the first time I tried it was at the Yard House. Nice dried and candied fruit aromas, nice fruity flavor with a slightly sweet finish. FarFromHome (84), Philadelphia, Alabama, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Had off the tap during Beer Week 2009 in south Philadelphia. Nice color and head, though nothing special. Sweet, even taste, without any overpowering flavors. Flavour of alcohol is deceptively missing; much stronger than I taste would indicate, I ended up sleeping on a porch after but three of them. JaBier (1284), Capital City, Ohio, USA

Clear amber color with a medium beige head. Sweet caramel malt aroma with a definite lager yeast impression. Candi sugar flavor with caramel, yeast and hops and nuts in the finish. Still a solid d-bock. TaktikMTL (2786), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours a great dark amber to brown color, with a thin offwhite head. there are a lot of good sweet flavors, dried fruits like plum and raisin. Those are nicely blanaced with some roasted nut flavors and of course the malts. Alcohol is completely hidden, and the mouthfeel is great, just a little bit of carbonation to keep it alive. This is a very solid beer. angrypirate06 (781), Texas, USA

Overall Impression:
Excellent beer, had it on tap first, but have also drank many times out of the bottle, nice, dark color with an excellent combination of flavors that make it one of my favorite beers. I know I’m overrating this one a bit, but damn its treated me well over the years.
