I would get this again, and would like to sample it on tap. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 14, 2009 They ain’t lying about the roasted malt flavor. Pours a dark amber cherry cola color with white head. Bubbles rise continually, helping this beer to taste fresh. The smell of roasted cigar like scents fills your nose, and a roasty malty, lite flavor follows. goes well with pot roast. Not too complex, just good old fashioned roasted barley taste. A focused brew. noncaloric (617), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Updated: Mar 8, 2009Pours a clear dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is very malty, strong on the raisins, malt syrup, and nuts. Yeast and chocolate become apparent while sipping through the head. When it gets down to actually drinking the beer, the malt syrup and raisin elements are up front, becoming more roasted in the finish. Decidedly hot, boozy mouthfeel, dry on the tail, somewhat thin-bodied. tarheels86 (762), Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2009 330 mL. Pours a clear deep orangish brown with almost no head and little carbonation. Aromas of cider vinegar, caramel, dates, milk chocolate. Taste is watery up front with sweet raisins, dates, brown sugar, and heavy malt. Coats the mouth and leaves a cardboard-like dry taste. Overall probably one of the worst dobbelbocks I have tried. Not much here. TearsforBeers (173), Ohio, USA

The aroma is of malts and yeast. The flavor is decent, mostly malty and grainy. The mouthfeel is moderate and slightly creamy. This is decent beer.
