Dark maroon with light tan head. Aroma of nuts and caramel. Sweetish caramel taste with toffee and raisins. Alcohol shows through. Lots of malt, could use better balance.

Bottle. Medium to dark brown with a large, creamy, off-white head. Full of aroma: caramel, dark malts, some hops, chocolate, dried fruits. Sweet and malty. Caramel and chocolate flavors. A touch of alcohol taste, which works to balance a little. Very lightly hopped. Could use a little more to balance it out better. Malt is rich and thick but not very complex. Finish of roasted malt (slightly drying), a touch of hops and alcohol, and malt. A decent bock, but too much on the sweet side for me.

Brown color, malty aroma, sweetness is very present in the flavor and maybe a little chocolate, finishes very smooth.

Pours a nice dark borwn with a tan/white head. Aroma of grains and maybe some fruit. Taste is of malted grains, and slightly strong alcohol aftertaste. Good beer, especially for the price.

Brown with medium, lasting head. Fruity aroma and taste. Somewhat bitter especially the finish. Its strong strength is not noticeable. A pretty decent beer.

Pours a very dark brwon almost black with next to no head. Has a caramel or some sort of sweet smell to it. Has a molasses, sweet taste up front with a dark fruit finish. Finish is very close to Chimay Blues finish

(bottle). Clear, deep amber/brown color. Medium tan head, which is mostly diminishing. Molasses aroma. Light molasses and alcohol flavors. Avg duration. Smooth finish. Slick texture. Soft carbonation. Spare lacing.

The epitome of a dopplebock! This beer is well balanced with a good combination of sweet, malty, and bitter - a must have! I especially love getting liters of this stuff!
