donteatpoop (112), Youngstown, Ohio, USA May 29, 2008 Poured a dark amber color, almost a chocolate brown; a thin tan head resting on top.
Smelled of dark roaster caramel malts.
Tasted much like the scnet, dark roasted malts and caramels. Hints of chocolate and coffee were also present.
Goes down smooth with a nice mellow level of carbonation. Leaves the palate a little dry, though.
Definately a solid session beer, I could drink this all night.

MaltDawg (369), Richmond, Virginia, USA Oct 6, 2008 Bready malty aroma. Clear dark brown with small white head. Rich malty flavor with some spicy hop notes and graininess. Medium body and medium/full mouthfeel. Finish is somewhat dry and malty with moderate residual bitterness. apshah99 (92), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 5, 2008 Dark brown pour with frothy white head. Beerman6686 (780), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 27, 2008 Poured a dark amber/brown color with a small off white head. Aroma was very malty, some dark fruits in there and a bit grassy. Flavor was very malty, much like most german dopplebocks, nice caramel roastedness . danielcurtis81 (98), San Diego, California, USA Sep 19, 2008 Getting my old notebook online. Bottle. Dark redish tint, creamy looking head. Smell: Hint of sweetness, fruitiness. Taste: Fruity bitters, bitters go away a little leading to a bit of chocolaty tones about halfway through. Strong good beer! pacaus (42), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 17, 2008 For a high alcohol beer it sure has a great taste. This beer is packed with tons of flavour with a sweet taste and smell of raisins.
