Aroma is sweet bready malt forward, followed by yeasty notes, some tartness and in the background some floral noble hop character. Appearance is a clear light gold with a low white head. Flavor is bready pils malt forward very well balaced by solid bittering hops with low flavor. Mouthfeel is light bodied, clean, with medium carb feel and a dry finish. Overall, a very well made, clean beer that has exceptional balance and is very easy drinking.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Bottle. Aroma of pale malt and noble hop. Brassy gold color with a frothy white head. Medium bodied. Creamy carbonation. It’s a well balanced pale malt sweetness with grassy, spicy hop. The finish is more than dry, and the final impact is bitter. It’s nearly astringently bitter. Crisp and clean it is. I’d say this one has been slightly underrated*, but I have not had so many of the competitors. Quelle dommage.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2007 16.9 ounce bottle purchased at the Davis Food Co-Op. Lightly, sweet, floral, grassy hoppiness in the nose with a small amount of DMS. Pretty crisp and enjoyable aroma, though. Transparent light yellow body with a smallish whire head, which has good staying power. A nice, fine bubbly lacing is also present. Well, this is a bit sweeter than I expected to start. Light maltiness with a bit of sugariness lingering in the background throughout. Some yeast esters are in the middle. A nice mild to moderate dry, lightly bitter noble hop finish. This is pretty enjoyable. On par with Pilsner Urquell...
