Appearance: crystal clear, pale yellow color, with a big, fluffy white head, leaving copious lace around.
Aroma: sharp, vegetal, minerally, flinty...not unpleasant, but not too, terribly pleasant, either...
Taste: Lands acceptably on the tongue and settles amiably in the mouth. Inoffensive. A touch of sweetness, with a well-rounded approach. Light bodied, small texture, little finish.
Not bad, not bad. I’m no lager-lover, though, and it’s no surprise that I’m not moved much this this Munchenbrau, but it’s just fine for what it is.

Original 3.2 Light golden appearance, fluffy white head with excellent lacing; good bubble action. Saaz induced hoppy aroma as expected. Crisp, clean flavor with a touch of honey sweetness. Very dry mouthfeel. Carbonation is just about right. Nothing wrong with this, just nothing to really get too excited about. 0o9i (335), Reno, Nevada, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2004 Bottled. Light golden, yellow-straw colored body topped by a big white head leaving behind lots of lace. Aroma is dominated by yeast(musky), with lots of sweetish caramel malts and apples..becoming overly sweet and almost syrupy after it sits for roughly 5mins. Body is medium, nearly flat...not sure what happened here...it fizzes in the glass, lasting head, looks great, but in my mouth there’s almost nothing for bubbles, but what is there is small, sparkling and in the back of the throat, dry mouthfeel. Flavor is light caramel malt start followed by big sour bread dough, then apple and bitter, sour, bread dough, caramel, apple skin finish. Would be wonderful with some decent carbonation, flavor is pleasant, nothing overly exciting. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 12, 2004 Pours a nice pale golden color, with a foamy white head. Smells of hops with sweet floral aroma going on as well. Maybe a little grain. Fairly hoppy. Has a bit of bitterness as well. Perkeo (318), Portland, Oregon, USA

Aromas of talc, french bread just out of the oven and frsh hops. Fairly bitter and dry finish. Probably the best mass market pils, IMHO. Aldrighetti (162), Coltura, Italy
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2004 Bottle. Light yellow, clear. White head, medium size bubbles, fair lacing, mostly disappearing.
Fresh aroma, hoppy, herbal, hop flowers, medium aromatic fragrance, weak dough aroma.
Taste is initial malty (bread, malt), then more hoppy (hay, herbs). Round bitterness, light citrussy (grapefruit peel). Medium to full "pilsner" body, oily texture, nice bitter mouthfeeling. Finish dry. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England

Thick, white head, some lacing. Lengthy bitter finish, compliments the smooth, crisp, sweet flavour. Thick mouthfeel, which remains light and sparkling.
