Commercial Description:
Bottom fermented pilsner style beer. Very elegant, pale in color, dry and hoppy. Its crisp clean taste is due to the extra fine Bavarian hops.

This was some skunky smelling and tasting beer. I couldn’t believe how dissapointing this beer was. I think I’ll be steering clear of spaten brews in the future.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow, nice white head. Nice aroma, standard grain taste, nice bitter after taste. A fine, unspectacular, pilsener in a bottle or on draft.

This is a nice tasty pilsener that is light but has a clear leaning to the hops. It is gold with a medium white head that lasts decently well. The aroma is grain with a strong, sweet flowery element, hint of sulphur and crackers. The taste is light grain and malt with herbal hops and bitterness predominating, the hops really coming through int he herbal flavour and a long, lightly bitter herbal finish. This is nicely balanced by a sweetness and oily texture

A vigorous pour produces a four-finger thick, pale, off-white colored head that leaves a fairly amount of lacing as it slowly recedes with a volcanic plateau in the middle of my glass. The beer is a brilliantly clear full gold color. Grassy, herbal hop notes mix with a touch of honey-like malt and a finish of soda cracker grain character. If you dig around a bi more fresh crushed grain aromas, notes similar to fresh bread crumb and a definite, fresh cut herbal note.

A crisp, hop biting bitterness is noticeable as soon as the beer hits my tongue. This bitterness continues throughout the flavor profile into a long dry finish. Slightly grassy, most definitely herbal with even a bit of lemon zest flavor, the hop character is certainly the defining character of this beer. The malt plays a supporting role here, but is very clean with just a touch of sweet grain flavor in the middle, and a dry, grain-like, bready finish that lingers on in the mouth. Light bodied and easy drinking, though it does have a light heft to it that helps the malt stick to the mouth a bit.

This is a nice quaffing beer; it is a great example of a German Pils; crisp hop and malt character with a solid hop bitterness. Certainly not the most intriguing beer in the world, but there is something about it that just hits the spot.

Had this on tap in Koln. Nice, light aroma and not too much bite in the aftertaste. Not my favorite Pilsner, but still enjoy it enough to keep buying more.

500ml - Light gold liquid under white head, decent lace. Hops on nose, nice bitter grab of hops but very little body, almost watery. OK

Thanks to Jason for this one. Faint gold color. Sweet aroma, honey, and a bit of skunk at first but that faded. Heavy dry bitterness. Fairly refreshing. Not too shabby for an import!
