yemenmocha (344), Glendale, Arizona, USA Oct 20, 2009 Poured medium gold that looked quite enticing, with modest head that was a good contrasting white. Nose had clean malty aromas. On the palate the malt came through nicely with a focus on the malt sweetness but not overly sweet. Light hoppiness for balance, and washes down very clean and malty. Excellent beer. Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 19, 2009 The green bottle didn’t seem to kill this one. Thicker and sweeter than expected. Nice. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 24, 2009 Tap @ Trappeze Pub, GA.
pours golden, frothy white head.
aroma light spices, fruity; white grape.
taste, light bitterness, some fruity notes, apricot, white grape, and a light citrus touch.
This is amazingly tasty and easy to drink. Birdiebeagle (777), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2009 Bottle Pours a clear light gold with a fizzy white head that leaves quickly. Lacing is okay. Aroma is pilsnerlike with hints of bitterness. Has a light carbonation. Decent mouthfeel. The flavor is okay. Very soft but still has some decent sweetness. The body is light. Has a decent finish with an okay aftertaste. This is a fairly smooth beer and one you could pound for a little while. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA May 25, 2009 Clear yellow pour. Sweet pilsner aroma. Not skunked, thank goodness. Sweet flavors, which was unexpected for a heller bock. Slight touch of bitter dryness. I am really impressed with this heller bock. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Apr 29, 2009 12 oz bottle from my old roommate Dave’s fridge in Seattle. Pours a light yellow with pretty much no head. Has a strong aroma of malt with some yeasty issues. Taste is mostly malt and grass with a very mild hop bite. CheersMate1 (766), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 23, 2009 First time I have rated this, huh? Oh well, I thought I had at least tried this before. Anyways, gold in color. Looks decent. Could be a bit darker or have a more translucent look to it, but it is not horrible. Fairly pungent pilsner-type aroma. Decent hop aroma I must say; it is actually pretty pungent. Nice creamy palate. Not really much of a hop profile. Decent sweet bread/malt taste at the end. Overall, pretty good "common" beer if you ask me. Not bad at all. Reminds me of a pilsner. afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 20, 2009 On tap, served in a nonic pint glass. Clear gold with zero head, not even a bubble. The smell is a generic malt/bread smell. Flavor is medium sweet with some spicy noble hops. The palate is full and smooth, it doesn’t really feel like it was carbonated at all. This is a strange beer, a strange beer I enjoyed however.
