Pours a light yellow with pretty much no head. Has a strong aroma of malt with some yeasty issues. Taste is mostly malt and grass with a very mild hop bite. CheersMate1 (865), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Anyways, gold in color. Looks decent. Could be a bit darker or have a more translucent look to it, but it is not horrible. Fairly pungent pilsner-type aroma. Decent hop aroma I must say; it is actually pretty pungent. Nice creamy palate. Not really much of a hop profile. Decent sweet bread/malt taste at the end. Overall, pretty good "common" beer if you ask me. Not bad at all. Reminds me of a pilsner. afireinside96 (841), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 20, 2009 On tap, served in a nonic pint glass. Clear gold with zero head, not even a bubble. The smell is a generic malt/bread smell. Flavor is medium sweet with some spicy noble hops. The palate is full and smooth, it doesn’t really feel like it was carbonated at all. This is a strange beer, a strange beer I enjoyed however. nhamilton (70), Cibolo, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 3, 2009 I’m used to german beers being great. This was from the tap and the thing was rather flat, forming a small white head. Aroma was malty and the taste smooth enough. Did not leave an after taste. rugbydude05 (303), Kew Gardens, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 28, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a light golden color with a thick head that lasts for a while. Aroma is very malty with a bit of hops. Taste is very doughy and a little bitter- like previous posts mentioned the alcohol taste is also very noticeable. Palate is average, full body. Good for a change of pace but nowhere near the optimator. SledgeJr (3003), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 19, 2009 On tap at the Huber Haus. This is a big ass beer and don’t care what anyone else says. Every time I drink this, I’m wiped out by the strength, so i am skeptical that it is only 6.5% ABV. I think that the Germans are exporting harder shit i order to knock us on our asses. Dark gold with a very thick poofy white head, this beer has a strong bready malty aroma but packs a very thick syrupy high alcohol flavor. I keep drinking it, keep waking up with a hangover, keep swearing that I won’t drink it again, and then keep drinking it. Butters (1653), Virginia, USA

Wheaty, yeasty, sweet vanilla nose with hints of alcohol. Flavors are light malty with traces of banana, clove, and alcohol. walker7727 (8), USA does not count | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Mar 3, 2009 Drank from 1 gallon mini keg (all to myself). Easy to drink. Does not taste bad but is only a step or two above a budweiser. Piss gold. Nice big foamy head. Aftertaste lingers (which isnt bad at all). Great to drink with buddies who have not had an imported beer and cant appreciate something of high value.
