Straw-gold with nice 1" cream fluff top. Light, clean graininess characterizes aroma and flavor with tannic grain sourness on finish. Re-rated 11/28/09 as Spaten Holiday Bock. Light maltiness of vienna, Munich, and caravienne. Toasty malts and lightly bready. Lightly flavorful and quaffable.

Pours a clear deep golden color with a thin fizzy white head. Aroma is a sweet biscuity toffee malt with a little bit of overripe apple juice. The flavor has some caramel and toffee with a surprising amount of bitterness on the back end. Fruity with a slight touch of alcohol to it. A bit of spicy yeast to the flavor too. Medium body and leaves a nice bitter dryness on the tongue.

Bottle- Clear dark gold pour with nice foam head and lacing. Malts and grainy yeast with a dip into sweet sugary texture. Full bodied and a caramel like malt blend, nice and smooth enjoyable finish.

Sampled on draft at Home Delivery Pizza in Bellefonte PA this beer poured a dark golden color with a small white head. The aroma was lightly tangy with a hint of citrus. The flavor was tangy, yeasty and lightly sweet with a a long tangy finish. The mouthfeel was nicely thick.

I sort of dig pale colored bocks. This one was roastier than I expected, considering it’s color. OK, not bad, probably won’t order again though; just to malty for my tastes.
