Pours a light orange-yellow with a modest head; the aroma is a great big hop blast, indeed reminiscent of Stone IPA, that leaves the mouth watering. The flavor does well but doesn’t quite live up. t’s certainly ruthlessly bitter (a la Stone) without the sweetness of Stone’s IPA; both of these are very nice attributes. But the bitterness is somewhat metallic, and the mouthfeel is watery.
This one could be really nice. But the pieces don’t come together as equal to the sum of the parts. That said, this is a 3.5 that I’d enjoy trying again given the opportunity.

Flavour was of very strong hops, and a very slight citrus finish. nolankowal (850), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2006 Pours a bright yellow with a white head with some pretty decent retention. Nice big citrus aroma with some light sweet malt. The flavor also has a nice balance between the refreshing grapefruit and orange peel and the caramel malt. The hop punch is in the front followed by a sort of thin body and a bitter/clean finish. Not a bad IPA overall, though I thought it could a bit more body. radagast83 (1301), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 9, 2006 On tap at the Toronado. probably the smallest beer (gravity-wise) that I tasted at the Toronado Bar, but I am dedicated to local brewing wherever I may be. Pours gold with a thick white head. Mild hop aroma. Good hop flavor. Awesome to drink while eating a couple of sausages from next door. It was brutal to try and select flavor nuances from this beer after the high gravity monsters that preceeded it. jcwattsrugger (5333), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is citrus hops, sweet. Taste is initial medium hops with immediate dominating caramel malt. OK/mild carbonation. Interesting, nice. Reid (1090), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 5, 2006 Liked the bottle design, very unusual for a 12 oz to be screen printed.
Clear golden coloure ale with a large frothy/bubbly off white head.
WOW, very nice strong spicy/lemony hop aroma to this one.
mmm the taste is bitter alright, but for me not the usual IPA. Its a mild bitterness and almost smooth, yet long lasting and turns syruppy sweet, almost honeyish in the end.
Not a bad mouthfeel at all, semi=smooth.
Overall a pretty tasty and slightly off kilter IPA, well worth tasting again.
