Sep 22, 2005 Deep gold in colour with medium carbonation. Good head retention and nice lacing. Aromas are of strong grapefruity C-hops with some more woody hops in the background. Flavor wise, it’s almost all hops again with the malt character taking a back seat. There’s a bit of mid-palate hollowness to this one, but not quite as much as their Prohibition Ale. The thinner body almost works with the slightly higher carbonation level. Great bitterness level to this one, and a clean finish is there (as advertized). It’s nice to finally have a real IPA back on the shelves in Manitoba again!

Sep 20, 2005 Had on tap at the San Francisco "Brews on the Bay" Festival - Decent brewpub IPA. Light copper appearance, decent off-white head. Fresh, light, sprucey aroma. Has the expected citrusy hops with a slight malty back end. Mouthfeel decent, not stinging.

Sep 7, 2005 Bottle Pours a slightly hazy light orange amber with very nice fluffy bright white head. Delicious sweet citrusy, orange and grapefruit hoppy aroma. Flavor was more of the bitterness than I expected. Fairly sharp and woody hop character with the pale fairly sweet grains a bit pushed down. Late grassy pulpy aftertaste with plain bitterness after that. Still a ince example of the style. Glad I picked this up.

Sep 3, 2005 Updated: Dec 11, 2005Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a large frothy white head. Nice carbonation. Aroma and flavour of fresh hops and grapefruit. Very pleasant, dry bitter finish. This is a delicious IPA -- Speakeasy are two for two with me. I look forward to getting this again.

Sep 2, 2005 one of my absolute favorite beers. its quite clear to me that i know less about beer than most posters here, but even a neophyte like me could catch the big whiff of hops in this beer. great finish, one of my favorite IPAs.

Aug 31, 2005 light golden colour with a heavy bubble presence. Strong foamy off white head! A full boquet of aroma hits the nose with hops and a barnyard zest. The flavour is sweet and bitter simulataneously, and the hops deliver as promised and leave oh so smoothly. This is a great Brew!

Aug 23, 2005 Tight head floating above very paie IPA. Surprisingly watery texture with a one, two count dead on hop finish. Odd how it balances itself out, but it works. As much as I like it due to the awesome hopping, I could take some more malt, but since there’s Double Daddy .....
