Aug 5, 2005 Very high on the hops. Pours a nice amber color, medium off white head. Aroma is nice and hoppy, with lovely orange hints, and what seems like a bit of eucalyptus (sp?). Flavor is very hoppy, with a dry finish. Very good offering.

Aug 3, 2005 Medium gold with a thin head. Light malt aroma with citrus flower hops. Subtle malt foundation in the taste which lets the hops stand out. Flowery and refreshing with good crispness and a good finish. Nice, light easygoing mouth feel.

Jul 20, 2005 Bottle poured a clear gold with a white head. Aromas of earthy hops and a hint of grapefruit rind. Palate is typical of an IPA, medium body, slightly resiny. Flavor is mildly bitter with a hint of citrus and a light malt backbone. I sure wouldnt say it had "big hop flavor" only average.

Jul 12, 2005 This is an exceptional local brew of high alcohol. More malty than anticipated. I love the hoppy nose and great mouthfeel.

Jul 11, 2005 Updated: Nov 30, 2005Bottle. Hazy orange pour, medium bubbly white head. A rather sweet smell with a muted hop aroma - disappointing for the style. Thicker mouthfeel than other speakeasy brews I’ve had so far. Malt and hop taste but terribly unbalanced. Grapefruit and honey is the mix I came up with and I didn’t like it that much. The hops are ok, it is the sweetness that throws this one off. Just ok.
Re-rate, poured a free first pint from the keg sample at Zeitgeist in San Francisco. Strong grapefruit aroma. Really nice citrus hop taste mixed with light malt - wayyyy better than the bottle I had. Short finish. Still just a tad syrupy, but otherwise a very good IPA. Original 534211.

Jul 8, 2005 Real nice beer. Awesome off-orange gold color. Nose of well crafted hops. Smells like the bitter rind of an orange. I love it. Nice lacing. Tasted of bitter delicious hops and malt. Real easy on the palate for someone who is interested in hops. I can’t wait to have another.
