Take Stone’s IPA, tone it down a couple notches, and you have this hophead’s delight, a bona fide mid-grade 8/10 beer. The appearance is a dead ringer for Stone’s product. I’m drinking this stuff so fast I can hardly savor the moment. I’m partial to the style, so sue me. beerface1980 (6), USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 5, 2005 Really like the almost sour hops here. the brew pours a little thin for me but whatever. I love the ganster on the label. Great job san fransisco. Bockyhorsey (2551), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 5, 2005 Aroma of hops really stands out here. Pour was dark shade of gold and had some head that dimminished rather quickly. Tasted great from the first gulp. Great marketing with the labels on the bottle. Lacing sticks to side of glass. Cool and crsip like the untouchable on the palate. Will have to get some more eyes watching over my beers in the frige. MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2005 Taken from notes made during a business trip to San Francisco: Pours clear and golden witha fairly thick white head that disapears quickly. Lots and lots of sticky lace. Aroma is all hoppy and medicinal and flowery. Flavor is some malt. Hops dominate, some liquorice, and a dry finish. Lingering bitterness with lots of carbonation. This is a decent IPA. Cool bottle too. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA

Strong ash, grapefruit, and honey flavors with a bitter ash hops finish. Not bad. thegreenrooster (1841), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 29, 2005 Pour is a deep orange with a small white head. Aroma is super! Nice deep hop aroma, more of a double IPA. Flavor is not as outstanding as the aroma but you get your piney hops and a nice crisp bite to this brew. An above par IPA.
