(10/31/08) Draught sample at Blue Palms in Hollywood (thanks Brian for the free beer!). Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, some coffee notes and light nutty notes. Sweet flavor, a bit roasty, with malt and light buttery hintes. Medium-bodied.

On-tap at PP C’Bad. Pours dark brown with a creamy, offwhite head, rings of lace all the way down the glass. Smells dark and smokey malty. Tastes malty and smokey as well, slightly sweet. Medium body, good carbonation. Best schwarsbier I’ve ever had, which isn’t that many but whatever.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ. Very dark. Rather surprising for a lager. I am used to lagers being much lighter than this. It went great with a dinner of ribs. Finish was also not as crisp as I would have liked.
