Aroma is all sweet/sour malt with a slight fruity ester tone. Appearance is dark brown with a well maintained cream colored head. Flavor is sweet/sour malt forward with a slightly earthy finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with light graininess and a medium/high carb texture. Overall, extremely sessionable for such a dark brew, much more similar to european dark lagers than the new world examples. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA

Really roasty aroma with some coffee. Flavor is roasted malt, burnt toast, coffee, nuts, and smoke. Very tasty stuff. Smoke lingers on the finish. Palate a little light but not bad for the style.
