12oz bottle via brigadier. Thanks! Noses in a spicy, near-celery hop aroma. Brassy, green and musky. Interesting, but maybe edging not fresh. Pours a slightly hazed deep golden, with a rim in rocky white. Flavor start similar to nose, but then slides downhill a little. There’s a brash edge of alcohol, a certain tang of bubblegum esters, and lots of residual sweetness. All of this through a citrus and spice hop base that comes across as age. Finishes a touch sweet, but bright. Has some rough edges.

On-tap at Stone. Pours bright yellow/orange, moderate sized white head, good lace. Smells grassy and resiny, citrusy. Tastes about the same, sweet and resiny grassy, citrusy. Full, syrupy body, good carbonation.

Pours hazy amber with almost no head. Aroma is grapefruit and lemon hops with a hint of caramel malt. Flavor is somewhat subdued and unbalanced. Some citrus in the middle, but lacking compared to some other offerings of the style. Drinkable, but not extraordinary.

pours a murky apricot with minimal head. aroma of hops, citrus, grapefruit, and some sweet notes. Flavor is similar- very drinkable, smooth Imp IPA if intensity isn’t on your mind at the moment. Pretty solid.

12oz bottle. Deep gold/orange. Some peachy, grapefruity aromas with honeyish-sweet maltiness. But a good dose of alcohol as well, which becomes a little dominant. The flavor has a really good balance; just sweet enough pale malts and tropical fruitiness, with a bitter and drying alcoholic finish. At first, I didn’t notice the hops much; it tasted overly malty, but later on a pleasant bitterness rounded the finish. Still, seems a bit sweet and the hops aren’t quite as expressive as I was looking for, especially in the nose. The flavor remains quite balanced and drinkable, with no harsh bitterness or astringency. A pleasant and easy DIPA, if that’s what you are in the mood for.

buttery aroma and flavor that takes away from the bitterness; still, good smack of green hops, vinous undertone, a lil’ whiskey; a bit off, but recognizable as what it ought to be.

Draught at City Beer, in Soma district of San Francisco, July 2008. Man oh man, the selection of awesome IPAs in California is second to none! This guy has a floral aroma with the hops and quite a strong hop bitterness, but it’s still not overwhelming.

Tap at OT. Small foam that dissapears rather fast. Big fresh hop aroma and some caramel. The taste is also loaded with hops and a good bite. There is also some caramell taste to balance this good brew.
