The hops are bracing but not overly so, and nearly achieves the perfect balance with the malts...a nice kicker timfoolery (484), California, USA

The hops were flavored floral and sweet citrus fruit, while the backbone was malty for a DIPA. Good palate; I just walked away, and there was absolutely no aftertaste. Nice. trevor211 (518), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 7, 2008 Pours a really cloudy honey amber with a thick, frothy head. This looks like a huge IPA. Aroma confirms - it’s incredibly hoppy, with that sickly sweet smell that goes with ales traversing both extremes - hops and malts. The hops are more floral / herbal than citrus, and the aroma reminds me of DFH’s 120-minute. Flavor is right there - nothing surprising, nothing disappointing - this is a great IIPA. Masks the alcohol, and manages a really smooth mouthfeel with so much flavor. yespr (12423), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Dense peachy and grapefruity hops aroma with a solid unfermented brewing cereal and malt base. Light acidic yet fruity and mild spiced finish. Dry and hoppy. Mild fruity and dense malty base flavour. Aroma very floral , Appearance , standard bronze body , Flavor is killer. Its a shame that Stone’s IPA is rated higher , it has nothing on this gem Brigadier (1257), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

Found on a trip to Cincinnati over Memorial Day weekend this has been lingering in the fridge. With temperatures climbing I decided to start opening some of the handful of imperial IPAs. This was first on the list since it was the only one that wasn’t a bomber.
Aroma / Appearance - The transparent bronze body was temporarily covered with a thin layer of foam. Freshly brewed iced tea, floral notes and low key citrus notes combine with an intriguing spiciness to create a nice blend.
Flavor / Palate - The taste of sweet rose, cedar chip and orange zest flooded the mouth from the first sip. The transition to hard butterscotch candy was followed by a bitter finish. Nicely balanced it is neither cloying nor watery. The only real flaw is that it might be a little vegetetal. Bigmmartin (378), Dayton, Ohio, USA

A magnificent, surprising flowery hop aroma...my favorite part of this beer. I enjoyed the aroma more than the actual flavor. The taste has a nice bitterness, with floral hops and a smooth finish. I pretty damn good IPA, better than I expected from this brewery. 12many (231), Ohio, USA
