| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2006 Pours a clear copper with a small white heady. Aroma is very subdued for an IIPA with piney overtones. Flavor is a little too balanced and lacks the hop punch, but very tasty. PHXHOPLOVER (50), LAVEEN, Arizona, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 8, 2006 This may be a bad bottle, but there is a bad taste of bandaids? Kind of astringent, and not in a hoppy good way. I know i’ve had this before, and liked it at least somewhat, but i’m going to have to force the rest of this down. Will definatelhy have to try again later. iowaherkeye (1856), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 5, 2006 12oz from the IrishBoy, no date. Pours a clear orange copper with a 3/4 finger slightly yellow white head. The first aroma I got was cherry cough syrup, though it wasn’t necessarily the strongest. There is also some toffee and citrus hops, grain, nuts and alcohol. Taste is ethanol with the aforementioned aromas. Not really very bitter. Dry finish. Medium bodied, lighter carbonation. Was fairly disappointed with this one. jeffc666 (1891), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 2, 2006 Sparkling clear amber body topped by a lovely white head that lasts and lasts. The aroma is much more subdued then many other IIPAs, light citrus and some herbalness. The flavor is heavy on alcohol and of course bitterness. It is basically just a mixture of bitterness and alcohol with some light sweetness and citrus. Very dissappointing. burpfrank (292), carpinteria, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2006 This had a non-noticeable aroma.Small head.Color a nice amber.It tasted on the sweet side with carmelly .somewhat sticky pallatte.slight pine taste.Contary to other raters I didn’t find much hops here.Maybe they were all fermented into submission.I guess I taste the hops in the fumes of the gulp.Tastes almost flat.Kind of boring beer . rajendra82 (703), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 29, 2006 This beer came to in a trade from 123456green of RB. Emptying the contents of the 12 oz. brown bottle uncovered a clear pale-amber colored ale, with foamy head that was fed by active carbonation streamers, but was still quite small at one-finger thick. The smell was somewhat subdued for the style, with a piney hop aroma that was backed by some nutty bouquet. The reserved character that the beer indicated via the nose was thrown out the door with the first sip. The taste was aggressively hoppy, with a peppery pungency up front followed by a long herbal bitterness. Thankfully there was a heck of lot of malt backbone holding the hops up. The taste felt a little too sweet, and akin to pineapple juice mid palette, but retreated to provide a balanced, hop candy like finish. This felt thicker than most Double IPAs, and therefore was not as easy to quaff. Nonetheless, a hophead like me will not turn this one away. elektronikfagtekniker (892), kbh, Denmark
