Aug 3, 2009 Pours orange with a disappearing orange head. It has a malty aroma of syrup, toffee, caramel, and peach. Big toffee flavors with sweet peaches. Not too thick. A malty example of the style, just like the daddy.

Jul 30, 2009 Bottle from The Foodery, 10th Street Philadelphia. Wasn’t paying attention, poured the whole bottle so a bit cloudy. Thick, long-lasting head. Strong floral soapy hoppy aroma. Nice palate, good bitterness, actually quite pleasant aftertaste which is rare, but like Stone or especially Rush River Double Bubble, balance between hops and malt is not right. Bit medicinal. As a hopehead II still like this beer quite a bit - but it’s not endangering my favorites in the genre.

Jul 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours an orange amber body with a white head. Sweet fruity grapefruit bitter pine and a light etoh warming, hints of citrus and peach. Moderate etoh warming. Nice brew.

Jul 27, 2009 Interesting pour, the head is almost a little grainy? I fear that I might have an older bottle. The nose is a little more subdued than what I would expect a little more perfuem. Bottle claims batch 002? A malty nose with a thud of oxidizes hop. There is a notion of grapefruit, possibly a centinneal spice. Palate entry is honeyed and very smooth. Pine and dried citrus hop notes begin to bitter and balance. Hops seem to wait until the finish to shine, and resin lingers on the tongue well after the sip is gone. Again, take this rating with a grain of salt, I’m pretty sure this guy is a litte bit old.

Jul 26, 2009 Pours a beige head with some lacing and an amber-golden body. Smells of resin hops and honey. Flavor is floral and resin. Finish is floral and not very bitter.

Jul 24, 2009 Fresh bottle via Sun Devil Liquors.
Pours a nice orange with a soapy white head. Aroma is pine, resinous hops, malt, citrus. Flavor is grapefruit and other citrus, pine, sticky hop resins, caramel malt. Finishes bitter, astringent and bitter with just enough malt to balance it out. 2nd take on this beer, the first being old and fresh it’s pretty good stuff.

Jul 13, 2009 I liked the big daddy IPA and the double daddy was no letdown. Another damn good beer from Speakeasy. A little more hoppy than the big daddy but same great flavor.
