Citrus pine orange aroma. Some sweet honey orange with thorough underlying bitterness and somewhat lingering orangey sweetness. Some off flavors, like fishiness. Surprisingly bitter, somewhat astringent. Medium-full body. Not one of my favorite DIPAs, but okay. The fact that this has a big "91" next to it is a good reason to emphasize style pct over overall pct. There are many, many, many DIPAs that, I think are more enjoyable than this. And I would further propose that something as random as Weltenburger Barock Hell, which has a big "55" next to it is definitely a more enjoyable, and, yes, I’ll say it, better beer than this. Pours a clear amber with no real head and just a little lacing. The aroma is big hop resin and some booze. Flavour dominated by alcohol punch and burn but then finishes with some sweeter hop bitterness. Not a beer for the faint of heart. Just about my upper limit on a DIPA being able to withstand the full court press. andersand (384), Malmö, Sweden
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Interesting double IPA with allot of mellon coming through. The nose is somewhat concentrated, the finish is a bit harsh but it has a really interesting array of flavour. Could be great with some fine tuning. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2009 Very nice brew. A very classic nor cal double IPA. Has a good bite of hops and goes down smooth. Alcohol percentage is pretty strong. Definitely worth a try! GJF (513), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2009 Very nice. Thick white head with a spicy, piney aroma. Tons of malt and pine hop flavor--fairly straightforward for the style, but really well done. I dig it. ansermadide (523), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2009 Sample at February 27, 2009 beer club meeting. Cloudy orange with a thin, cream-colored head. Sweet hop aroma with great hop flavor. Malt characteristics are a great touch... hits right at the tonsils. Almost creamy mouthfeel. A hearty I2PA! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Had on draft at Yard House in Las Vegas. Big time hop aroma with a pretty nice balance of hops and malt. Big tasting beer. Long, drawn out finish, reminds you that you drank it long afterwards. Overall, very nice.
