Very hoppy for a porter nose. Roasty, earthy good floral bitterness in the aroma. Dark brown pour with a creamy tan head. The flavor is roasty and earthy with a good deal of hop bitterness in the finish. Long dryness lingers. Well done.

Pours deep brown with a thin off white head. Nose is chocolate and roasted malt with a touch of coffee. Same in the flavor with a medium full mouthfeel.

On tap at Quinns. Was informed by the Beer Retard that this one rarely leaves the Bay Area, so I had to try it. Meh. As befitting the rest of the mediocre ratings, I found it to be nothing, and seeing how its named after the ghetto neighborhood in SF, I won’t be drinking it again.

Deep brown pour, ten head, aroma of dark chocolate and a bit of coffee. Full mouthfeel, dry, bitter finish. Lovely.

The aroma is roasty. coffee, dark chocolate, very nice. The appearance is deep brown/black, small tan head. The flavor is chocolate, cream, roasted coffee. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and silky, but a tad too thin for this style. the finish is roasty, bitter, good. Decent porter, if not a classic.

Tap at Rattle N Hum. Deep black beer with a sticky tan head. The nose is lovely. There is a lot of rich chocolate and cooca along with a soft chewy maltiness. There is a nice chewiness through the middle with a kiss of plum and molasses along with a chewy toffeeish maltiness. Fairly assertive roastiness as well. Intense and chewy, but not overly sweet. Nicely constructed beer with a touch of roastiness on the back. Absolutely delicious brew. Really impressive.
