A very malty porter. Chocolate and roasty tones come through a solid base of caramel and bitterness. A very nice nuttiness can be found in the background, with dried fruits from the yeast esters.

Dark brown color. Big cookies, buscuit, dark chocolate nose with a touch of whisky. Med-full bodied. Big baker’s chocolate mouth with a funky buscuity character. Big chocolatey finish that is slightly warming. This is a big beer all around and very enjoyable.

Dark colored with a nice tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, dark fruits, light chocolate, a touch of raisin, and some herbs. Full bodied and smooth. Flavor is stout-like. Rather roasted, chocolate, mild bittersweet, nutty, and light smoke. An enjoyable brew that seems to lean stout-ish. (Draught at Thrash Zone- Yokohama, Japan)

Had this on tap @ THRASH ZONE. Dark body and a fluffy brown head. Not much nose but the taste was really unique. Steering more towards a Irish Stout with a peaty, dry palate and a subtle roasted. Hit the spot on a cold winter’s night.

Tap @ Toronado, SF. Dark color, short head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, hint of licorice. Smooth taste, creamy, malty, coffee. Quite nice porter.

Tap @ Hamilton’s. Black pour with a squatty tan head. Old coffee and cream with cocoa powder in the nose. Bitter baker’s chocolate up front that melds into a coffee-nuts-malt carpet on your tongue. A bit grainy and metallic at times Some nuts and smoke/roast comes through, but inconsistently. I still liked it despite its warts.

On tap at Hamiltons. Black with a creamy tan head. Roasty aroma and taste with bitter chocolate and mild coffee notes.
