Soft aroma of roasted malts. Medium body, plenty of roasted malt - only a vaguely burned touch - and some dried fruit. Has an underlying sweetness and a very subdued bitterness. A very well crafted Porter. 250307 JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Tap at Rattle N Hum. Deep black beer with a sticky tan head. The nose is lovely. There is a lot of rich chocolate and cooca along with a soft chewy maltiness. There is a nice chewiness through the middle with a kiss of plum and molasses along with a chewy toffeeish maltiness. Fairly assertive roastiness as well. Intense and chewy, but not overly sweet. Nicely constructed beer with a touch of roastiness on the back. Absolutely delicious brew. Really impressive.
