CapFlu (3292), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Apr 26, 2008 (Bottle) Purchased a 4 pack from Brewery Creek for $15. Pours a thin, white, foamy head with an intense, bubble filled orange body. A pleasant, warm hoppy nose stands out but there is really a nice balance all around. I like the mild carbonation and medicinal malted base but its the young hoppiness that clinches it from me. Very nice... I look forward to the other 3 bottles!
RunDWP (159), San Jose, California, USA Sep 3, 2008 Bottle. Copper brown color with thick head, and lots of lacing and sheeting on the glass. Toffee aroma. Flavor dominated by toffee, with some tea and brandy notes. Strong alcohol presence warmed me up, but also threatened to dominate the brew. A bit on the strong side, but otherwise, good sipping brew. wetherel (997), Carlsbad, California, USA Aug 29, 2008 Sean bought and opened this bottle at PP bottle shop. Thanks Sean! Really hoppy initial aroma. Amber color. Sweetish. A nice little bit of yeasty aroma. Pretty nice, but still young. Needs some age. fidel (146), Livermore, California, USA Aug 24, 2008 Thanks Frankenstein, redish brown, sweet, caramel, dark fruits, alcohol, spice, light citrud, little hop. AgentSteve (784), Livermore, California, USA Aug 24, 2008 Shared by Frankenstein, pours a very clear ruddy brown with a thin cream colored head. Sweet caramel and dried fruit nose. The flavor is quite sweet and lots of caramel with a bit of a hot finish. Nik925 (136), California, USA Aug 18, 2008 I’m becoming more accepting of super-sweet barley wines, but this one is still too sweet. Great hop-bill, and a good amount of complexity but still really sweet. Great color, but lacking head (ok within style). Apple notes are almost as strong as the hop flavor.
