Malt sweetness appears after being opened for a time. Appearance is dark copper with a persistent off-white head. Flavor is citrusy hop forward with light sweet malt and faint caramel. Flavors are fairly seamless and come across as one very long, complex flavor. Bittering is medium/high. Body is medium, carb texture is medium/high and finish is very dry. Overall, a well made, high hoppy amber. Comparable more to some IPAs than most popular ambers, this is a heck of a strong flavored amber that still begs to ’have another.’ gsmitty80 (653), Washington DC, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 21, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber, small head, nice lacing. Aroma of fruit (grapefruit) with a malty backing. Flavor is semi-sweet with a nice balance of fruity hoppiness and caramel malt. Nice mild bitter finish. Nothing to complex about this beer, but very enjoyable. Nice amber. nealie (3), Arizona, USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 12, 2007 Amber-red color. Thick, smooth off-white head that held reasonably well. Citrusy and slightly floral nose. Flavor is slightly malty-sweet but dominated by hop flavors later. Dry finish with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Relatively low carbonation. Good enjoyable beer, but aren’t they all? Aquilo (282), California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2007 Color is amber with a thick foamy head that disappears quickly. Smells of grapefruit, mango and candy. A bit too sweet for me. Flavor is more confusing than complex. Hops are competing with citrus flavors, and neither flavor seems to be winning. There is also this annoying candy flavor in the background. All I can say for the mouthfeel is that it is wet. As awkward as this beer is, it is still drinkable, and perhaps even enjoyable. But I won’t buy another six-pack. ehhdayton (1115), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2007 Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma has a pronounced grapefruit character with a caramel background. Hoppish notes of grapefruit are the dominant flavor with a touch of caramel and a bitterness that lingers slightly on the tongue. riversideAK (2803), Shoreline, Washington, USA
