| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Tap at Rattle N Hum. Deep amber pour. Creamy off-white head. The nose is lovely. Light orange peel and a little bit of pine as well. Lightly biscuity with a touch of crackery character and some soft biscuity malts. Moderate bitterness with a lot of fresh, juicy citrus on the back. Excellent balance. More APA than amber, but this is a great sessionable ale. hoppopotamus (186), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 4, 2009 A clear mahogany beer with a small off white head that doesnt last. Aroma is mostly bready and toasty malt. Flavor is much of the same with some fruitiness; prune and fig maybe. Mouthfeel quite chewy and syurpy. I’m not a fan of amber ales but this is quite solid. A bit of a watered down arrogant bastard, maybe. blipp (1684), Newark, New Jersey, USA

Fruity citric hops in the aroma with some toasty malt. The flavor is well balanced, with floral citric hops and sweet malts. A very respectable amber. swoopjones (1917), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 30, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle thanks to Tom. Dark amber with a good off white head. Good bright fruity hoppage with a faint medicinal note. Some wheat too. Fairly dull really. Some bitterness in the finish. Just a little one dimensional overall. 17thfloor (1496), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 26, 2009 12oz bottle. Man, I’m really starting to enjoy strong hopped ambers. Pours a deep dark but clear and glowing red amber with a lovely frothy light tan head 3.5. Aroma is nice and resiny hoppy, light complimentary citrus and rich sweet caramel. Flavor is bit on the sweeter side, brightly sweet, earthy, resin, light citrus, finishes strangly acidic (not infected). Medium bodied with a lighter mouthfeel, big fluffy airy carbonation, lightly sticky, very similar to and easily on par with other highly rated ambers.
