It has a pleasant sweet smell like molasses cookies. There really was no lacing and showed an interesting yellowish-brown head. What I thought stood out most was a nice bitter aftertaste similar to an IPA. It was loaded with lots of carbonation and a general woody taste. Pretty good. IndianaRed (1560), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 27, 2005 Bottle Pours a clear orange/amber with a nice off white head . Lacing is chunky and coarse. Sweet bread like aromas. Strong woody flavors and quite bitter. Quite thin feel. Cardboard aftertaste. Glad to have tried it. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Poured a slightly hazed amber color with a huge (too big) off-white head. Aroma of citrus hops on top with caramel maltiness underneath. Flavor is sweet with more citrus/grapefruit covering up most of the malt (this is not a bad thing) Finishes with a nice hop bitterness. Fizzy mouthfeel becomes a detractor from an other wise very nice beer. Other slight flaw is a touch of "metalic" taste. ratman197 (3248), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Bottle poured a clear amber with an off white head. Aromas of sweet malt, carmel and a hint of citrus. Palate was a little on the thin side. Flavors of malt, and carmel with a mildly bitter finish. This is hardly what I would call boldly hopped! tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2005 Dark orange pour, bubble white head. Orange citrus hop aroma. Nice dent bitter taste - more than the aroma would suggest. Looks watery but certainly isn’t - it does have a thin mouthfeel though. I found it to be a good session brew the best thing that has happened to "amber" ales in quite some time. My 2nd enjoyable brew from these guys. waeltzy (53), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2005 Golden amber color. Nice big head that laces well. More malt than hops on the flavor but the nose was a nice bitter hop. Citrusy, bready, citrus rind, floral notes. I enjoyed it. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Medium hop body. Very mild malt backbone. Hops stay through from fore through the middle and into the fatertaste. Nicely done. Hooker (450), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada
