Nose is nicely hopped with citrusy, earthly characteristics. Also a bit malty. Very efficient lure as MartinT would put it. The flavor is creamy, bal;anced with a medium body and mouthfeel. Moderate bitterness in the tail and a nice rounded flavor. Clean. Dickinsonbeer (3451), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2005 Pretty nice amber ale overall, but obviously nothing extraordinary. Pours a light amber with a slight head that leaves a lasting film. Aroma is citrusy and piney with a good medium malt presence. Flavor is moderately malty with some crystal malts and hoppy with notes of citrus, pine and some orangy flavors. Has more of an earthy dry bitterness in the end which seems a bit harsh. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 21, 2005 Hazy amber with a hint of red. Small head with some lacing. Floral and fruity nose with a good caramel backing. A touch of nutmeg. Flavor is mostly malty with fruity hops. Spice comes back lightly. Thin bodied with a bitter fruitiness at the end. Good malt body. boto (1336), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2005 12oz. bottle: This is a little interesting. The beer pours a somewhat hazy amber color. Mine didn’t have too much head to it. The aroma is quite nice. It is a bit spicy, malty and citrusy, nicely balanced between the three. The taste is quite good also. There is a decent caramel maltiness to it, with a but of a hop bite also. Somewhat spicy taste also. This is well done and easy to drink. Thanks, Jay! SETANTA (581), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 5, 2005 The hoppiness in this beer is more in the nose than the bitterness. Otherwise, the hops lened more of a spiciness and woody character instead of plain old bitterness. Most likely dry-hopped extensively. MarkBarnes (266), Waterville, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 25, 2005 Copper pour, nice lacing on the glass. Delicious aroma of citrus and spice; "aggressive" hoppiness (as the brewer says) could be better balanced with stronger malty undertones -- as a result, it has a somewhat surprising lightness to it. Hop bitterness and spiciness linger long after the glass is empty. Would make a good session beer. I like this quite well and will look for it again. mikebeertaster (96), vancouver, Washington, USA

Flavor is fairly good. Not as long lasting of flavor as I like, but a really nice beer johnyvt (157), West Hollywood, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2005 Updated: May 19, 2005Bottle. Great fresh hop aroma. Taste is more true to an amber than the label of "aggressive hopping" might suggest. Lots of toasted malt to go along with the hops and a very sweet finish, almost sugary. Tea and orange flavors.
