More resinous and bitter than usual for style but more to my liking prsonally. Some caramel and crystal malt notes with a touch of roast. willblake (2191), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Floral and citrus aromas, a bit musty and grainy. Thin palate quickly distributes a softly floral and sharply, pleasantly bitter brew with a mild flavor only lasting a moment. I like it when ambers have a bolder hop profile like this but it certainly could be mistaken for an APA. Average example of a nice session amber. I don’t see what it gains from the relatively high 6.1% alcohol. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 25, 2005 Nice-looking dark copper ale. Light white lacing resting on the top. Smells very pleasant: bitter, hoppy and just slightly sweet and very inviting. The flavor is too thin, though and overly bitter for an amber, in my opinion. Not very well balanced. The finish is metallic. notalush (2693), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 25, 2005 Light amber with impressive lace - very piney, hoppy aroma, with a touch of caramel malt - very hoppy for an amber, with minimal malt presence - grassy and herbal - not much going on - decent but fairly easy to forget. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2005 Pours a nice amber color with an off-white head. Hops, citrus, and malt hit the nose. Nice hoppy taste, with not too much bite. Smooth, but not much other flavor than the hops. Still, quite refreshing. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2005 Amber colored with a tan head. Floral hops abound in this beer, light caramel to offset the hoppiness. light to medium bodied with a fairly dry finish. Pretty tasty. TChrome (1303), Bedford, Texas, USA

Aroma is mostly hoppy that being the citric , grapefruity variety there is a malt presence in the background. Flavor is up front hoppy with some nice grapefruit juice notes, but not over the top. Nice earthy caramel malty flavor also. This really is a pale ale to my taste buds anyway. Way too much hoppiness to be in the amber category. Good ale. GuilTTy (538), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 7, 2005 Reddish amber with a medium off-white head. Clean fruity aroma with some hops and plenty of malt. Very malty flavor but balanced pretty well with enough hops to get your attention without dominating it. A little tart fruity note - apricot? - snuck in there as well. Crisp finish. I didn’t expect much of this beer and I was mildly surprised when it was finished. Worth a few fridge door shelf spots.
