A good beer. Good amber color with a decent head. More hops than a lot of ambers. Steib (578), Queen Creek, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2004 Big fruity, hoppy aroma. Light golden-reddish color. Flavor is well balanced with hops, pine and caramel notes. Hops may be a little overbearing for some but it works well here. A very appealing malt character gives this beer an eternal finish. This one goes great with chinese food by the way. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England

Considering i felt like crap after a mamoth day drinking with the San Fran Krew, this wasn’t too bad. pretty relaxed and soft. Nice hop aromatics, pine, lychee, not intense at all, well balanced. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 25, 2004 2004 bottle. Good enough pour, amber, clear, foamy white head. Smells fresh and hoppy, with some decent wet hay and grain notes, and some watered down caramel malt. Flavor has a good mix of dry, floral hops, light hints of honey and caramel and a good grainy body. Hopping is pretty over the top for what I would expect an amber to be, but since this isnt much of a style, it might as well be assertively hopped. Still, a bit too hoppy for my liking, though the hops are very fresh. A bit boring though as I finish the glass. It’s definitely a good beer, whatever the hell it is. jeffc666 (1893), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2004 Amber with lots of bubbles forming a medium light tan head. Pleasing citrus and caramel aroma. Bitterness dominates (odd for an amber), citrus and a touch of sweet caramel. Body is a bit on the light side. Overall one of the better ambers I have had, which granted is not saying too much. HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 4, 2004 12 oz bottle, bright blood-orange color, virtually no head, big lacing. Big grapefruit nose, bit of malt. Very assertive hop bitterness at the front which never goes away; light caramel malt tries to push it’s way in but is denied. A bit watery at the finish. Not really doing it for me overall, despite a very nice initial whiff. Too bitter and dry overall without a good body to back it up. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 27, 2004 Clear light amber, puffy white head. Nose is sweet and a bit malty, definite citric notes. Flavor is quite hoppy, malts are sweet and a bit of caramel. Quite hoppy, very citric with loads of grapefruit. Nicely balanced. Excellent palate, creamy and sticky. Hoppier than most things labeled as an amber, but in a good way. Quite good.
